Clear Aligners
No matter how old you are when you start thinking about getting braces, the idea of sporting a mouth full of brackets and wires is probably a turnoff. Fortunately, there’s a proven, cutting-edge solution for straightening teeth that don’t involve traditional braces: Invisalign® clear aligners.
We offer Invisalign® as an alternative to traditional braces within our orthodontic treatment options. Similar to braces, clear aligners control tooth movement through gradual force applied over time. Each custom-made aligner fits over your teeth. Because the shape of each successive aligner differs slightly from the one before it, your teeth will move a little more each time you switch to a new aligner.

What to expect during Invisalign® treatment

You wear each aligner at least 20 hours a day for about two weeks before switching to the next aligner.
You’ll remove them only to eat, floss, and brush. As you advance through the series of aligners, your teeth will gradually shift until they have reached the optimal position we have prescribed.
We’ll schedule office visits with you every six weeks or so, to ensure that your treatment is progressing according to plan.
Treatment timeframes frequently average 6-18 months, but this will vary from case to case.
While this option is effective for many orthodontic patients, we do not recommend it for everyone. The details of your case will help us to determine if clear aligners are right for you.
Orthodontic treatment with clear aligners is advantageous because the aligners are:
- Comfortable and less likely than traditional metal braces to irritate gums and cheeks
- Protective of teeth by preventing wear from tooth grinding
- Removable for easy flossing and brushing after meals
- Easy to keep clean, allowing patients to maintain the health of their teeth and gums easily
- Shorter break-in period

Best for patients with:
- Minor to moderate crowding
- No significant overlapping
- Stable bite.
The drawbacks of clear aligners
- Removability makes the aligners easier to lose, break, or forget
- Not effective when primary teeth are present; most patients must be 18 or older
Not suitable for patients with:
- TMJ disorders
- Severely crowded or overlapped teeth
- And/or teeth that require significant rotation or vertical realignment.
